It is strange that your blog has not caught me before, thanks for the article.

Thanks Sara, I too am referring the people I am coaching to customize WordPress sites to your slides and we are having a Meetup on the topic with Russell Fair at my place next week. See you soon.

Sarah, It was good to meet you at WordCamp Savannah. I know that a lot of the members of the Atlanta WordPress Users group attended your presentation and were very pleased with your presentation. I released a Twenty Ten child theme called Oh One Oh Two - not because I think I'm a great graphic designer, but because I wanted to use it as an example for others who want to start making their own child themes. You can check it out at http://0102.atlwpusers.com - There are 5 posts explaining how I created the child theme.

Thanks! Also, Thanks for sharing your example. The cool thing about child themes: variations are endless!

Cool presentation! Seems like it definitely helps to eliminate a lot of redundant work when creating themes. A lot of people including myself, just brush those default themes aside when in actuality they're pretty powerful even though they appear basic to the eye. Heading to WordCamp Mid-Atlantic on 09/11/10. I hope to hear some speakers that are informative as this was.

Thanks! Yeah, TwentyTen is really solid. That is awesome that you're going to WordCamp Mid-Atlantic. I am sure that there will be an awesome line up there. :)
